A Portrait Worth 150 Years
Authentic Wet Plate Collodion Tintype Photography
What is a Tintype?
A tintype, also known as a melainotype or ferrotype, is a photograph made by creating a direct positive on a thin sheet of metal coated with a dark lacquer or enamel.
While tintypes enjoyed their widest use during the 1860s and 1870s, Shot Rite Photography is now Chattanooga's leading provider of this fine art form in the 21st century. Each tintype is a one-of-a-kind heirloom.
With no digital files and no reprints, this is pure photographic artistry captured on metal that will last for generations.
